Secondary pressure containment in Coriolis mass flowmeters
Plant safety maintained in case of ruptured flow tubes
Challenge
Unexpected pressure peaks or incorrect design specifications can spark pressure-related damage of the flow tubes of Coriolis mass flow meters, causing leakage and spillage. This is a safety risk especially with toxic or aggressive media.
Solution
OPTIMASS straight tube Coriolis mass flowmeters with secondary pressure containment retain the fluid in case of tube failure. Featuring a typical burst pressure of more than 100 barg / 1450 psig (optional 150 barg / 2175 psig), this second line of defence prevents leakage and mitigates harmful effects on the application environment.
Safety benefits
Second line of defence for plant safety: No leakage or product spillage if flow tubes fail due to pressure conditions
Secondary containment retains the fluid in case of tube failure
Increased occupational safety when handling hazardous fluids and high-pressure applications
Typical burst pressure of secondary containment of more than 100 barg / 1450 psig (optional 150 barg / 2175 psig)
Available for all OPTIMASS Coriolis flowmeters with single, twin or quad straight tube design
PED / CRN approved secondary containment can also be provided
